Life at NITK

So finally I got hold a sane computer which had a CPU in the Computer Centre and I'm taking the oppurtunity to make a post.

The weather here is really humid and I sweat like the Ghats.

Everyone was saying the girls weren't very pretty- well the girls are pretty enough for me.

The computer centre is a real pain since 99% of the computers are actually thin clients, so the speeds are ludicrous.

People here are awesome, all types-nerdy, cool, sporty, funny, weird, etc.

Mess food isn't as horrible as people made it seem. It's easily tolerable.

Classes are to start on Tuesday.

My beautiful 1 week old Motorola SLVR L7 got wet in the beach. DAMN! Plus, it happened on a Sunday and the damn service center in Mangalore is closed today. I hope it survives. My parents are going to kill me.

As of now, I'm really turned off because of my cellphone. *weeps*

And the atmosphere kinda...Bah, hell with the atmosphere. I loved my cellphone :((

Of Mangalore and other things

I had been to Surathkal yesterday to get admission. The problem with NITK, Surathkal is that being Karnataka's best Engineering college, it's infrastructure is worse than some of the local Bangalore colleges. The hostels aren't very nice, especially considering that three, in a single room too, is a crowd.

Mangalore is a wierd place. I'd been to a Bharat mall and noticed that while the girls are very stylish(dress-wise), the boys were, well, pretty boring. Another thing about Mangalore is that stuff always smells. That's probably because of the humidity and so un-ventilated areas smell. It's nauseating.

I took a 'Special Rajasthani Thali' and it was horrid. There was enough oil in it to power a small city for a day and enough tastelessness to paralyse an American(their food is tasteless too). I was stunned when a family sitting next to us just ate up the whole damn thing. I ate only curd rice and still felt like puking. If Pilani has food like this I'll pass even if they offer me money to come there.
