College Hunting

Long time since I've blogged but lately I've been pretty stressed out because of the whole college thing. The problem is that my parents don't want me to go to BITS, Pilani because it's far away but I won't get a technology related course in a good college which is close by. If I get a IT course in NIT, Surathkal I'm grabbing it.

Another thing getting to my nerves is that there are so many different things that I should be doing and I am not keeping track of them and I keep forgetting stuff. Some sort of amnesia maybe.

If theres one thing I'd like to see change in the Indian education system, it would be the admission. I'm so annoyed with having to have 6 billion different ranks and 6 billion counselling sessions each with a plethora of dropouts and reservations, it's absolutely confusing. I say just have ONE damn exam for ALL colleges WITHOUT ranks and just a SCORE. That would make life so simple and get rid of a lot of stress.

Yeah dude...Convince your folks...fond hearts makes the distance go shorter or something...Pilani definately will shine on your resume...

I agree with you on the one exam theory... I gave atleast 10 exams for journalism and 4 for the same university not to mention interviews for each... It was back-breaking...

If I were a chauvinist,My reply would be to join my college.Coz Im not,BITS is the best man.. Try to convince your parents...Distance houldnt be a hurdle in your process of learning..Its just like telling I couldnt go and search for a good girl and thus settle with my neighbour...abt, NITK its not bad optin for IT!Think over...

Why are you getting so stressed out? Try and relax and things might get a bit clearer.

It would be great if yppu could convinnce your parents about BITS. I've heard you get fabulous pays when you get out. My sis went from Kolkata all the way to Gwalior to study becuse she got thru a good course!

BITS isnt bad... you can have a sense of security at BITS because... you are "assured" of a job (if that's what you're looking for after graduating)... and well, if you apply for universities abroad also, you'll have an edge over those from third tier colleges... and dude, always try to get as far away from home as possible... the closer you are to home, the more restricted you are (at the unconscious level.. believe me!!) as I have realized after coming to Delhi.

@equi
selective amnesia, maybe? Whatever that is

@adivitya
Too many exams are such a drag...

@praveen
Agreed

@strictly for ME!
Okay, honestly I have no idea where Gwalior is. But I suppose it's far away...

@rose
I'll do just fine :)

@generally
I don't slog hard. It's not 'my way' of doing things. But it's not my skill I'm worried about. It's the exposure to different things.

@atlantean
YES, FREEDOM.

@vega
Pullovers, Hangovers, I'm gonna see it all.

@ankit
Great idea. But I'm modifiying it to College Strike. :D

Seriously yaar.I have myself gone through rigrous admission process of engineering colleges.

Instead of simplfying, educationists are complicating it more.
